Our History

In 2024, while serving another congregation, Bishop Sommerville, Co-Pastor Bagley with their core board recognized the need to establish "A Place Of Grace." This ministry was intended as a worshiping community open to all people. Alongside Co-Pastor Bagley, Bishop Sommerville envisioned a ministry that would embrace and embody the radically inclusive love of Jesus Christ.

Their vision would welcome people regardless of race, ethnicity, ancestry, age, ability, gender, or affectional orientation.

September 21, 2025, this vision became reality. Under the commissioning of Bishop Yvette A. Flunder, Presiding Prelate of the Fellowship of Affirming Ministries in Oakland, CA, Grace Fellowship Phx. was born.

Established as a Spirit-Filled, Worshiping, Inclusive, Friendly & Teachable Church (SWIFT), we declare and celebrate diversity as part of our commitment to building an open and affirming community of love and faith.

Bishop Elliott K. Sommerville

Senior Pastor

Bishop Elliott Keith Sommerville was born in Chicago, IL. and reared in the classical Pentecostal tradition of the Church of God in Christ, emerges as a prophetic voice to the 21st century – Speaking Truth to Power and uniting both the ministry of Jesus and Justice. Bishop Sommerville has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Education and a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from the historical Beulah Heights University of Atlanta, GA.

Notably, in 2007 Bishop Sommerville hosted the first National Day of Prayer at the historic Virginia Highland’s Church of Atl. GA. In 2009, Bishop Elliott Sommerville became the establishmentarian of The Shepherd’s Table Covenant Church of Atlanta. In 2010 He launched Project Rehoboth, a ministry for those individuals who had been displaced and were currently experiencing housing insecurity (Homelessness). This program addressed basic human necessities of food and clothing and linkage to care services throughout the Atlanta Metro Area. The same year Bishop Sommerville established The Glory Conference. An annual empowerment conference with a particular focus on prayer, praise, and Spiritual enlightenment.

In 2017, Bishop Sommerville relocated to the nation’s capital where he served the Metropolitan Community Church of Baltimore. Here he served as volunteer clergy, director of Worship and the Arts, and clergy assistant to the Sr. Pastor. In 2019 Bishop Sommerville was called to relocate to the West Coast to the city of Phoenix, Arizona where he served as the Episcopal Administrative Assistant to TFAM’s then Regional Bishop. In January of 2022, Bishop Sommerville was appointed Bishop Elect of the West Coast Region. Since that time Bishop Elliott Sommerville has been duly consecrated as the West Coast Regional Bishop of TFAM in August of 2024. In June of 2024 Bishop Sommerville was elected Senior Pastor of the Ebenezer Church Phx. Being called to do “A New Thing!” Bishop Elliott Sommerville established The Grace Fellowship Phoenix, where he now serves as senior pastor along side of Co-Pastor Nikki Bagley.

Pastor Monique "Nikki" Bagley

As a 21st century woman, clergy person, and spiritual leader, Pastor Nikki Bagley stands out as a dedicated servant-leader whose ministry is deeply rooted in the principles of biblical discipleship, compassionate outreach, and intentional spiritual formation. Her particular approach to ministry is not only shaped by theological understanding but also by a genuine commitment to meeting people where they are—spiritually, emotionally, and practically.

With a rich background in chaplaincy, pastoral care, and teaching, Pastor Bagley brings a wealth of experience to every aspect of her work. This experience enables her to offer guidance and support to individuals navigating life's challenges, whether through one-on-one counseling, group support, or community initiatives. Pastor Bagley’s teaching is marked by clarity and conviction, empowering believers to live out their faith with courage and purpose in everyday life.

Central to Pastor Bagley's ministry is a heart for outreach. Compassionate service is not just a program but a way of life, reflected in the church's efforts to provide clothing, food, and emotional support to those in need. Pastor Bagley leads by example, encouraging the congregation to embody Christ's love through tangible acts of kindness—whether it's organizing school supply drives for children, visiting and uplifting the elderly, or facilitating groups for those facing personal struggles, her leadership style is characterized by humility and creativity.
